How do demons enter?
demon spirits Demonic spirits gain access into the life of an individual through what is known as a door way. A door way is a vulnerable area in the life of a person that becomes open to the access of evil spirits whether through voluntary or involuntary means.

These doorways can stem from different level of involvement in the occult, traumatic occurrences, taking of drugs, generational curse, and different situation which triggers intense negative emotional reactions. A persons voluntary sins can also have an affect if a person is to become demon possessed. In most cases of demonic possession, a steady prayer life and the abstaining from sins, especially mortal sins (fornication, masturbation, heresy, pride, anger, etc.), is for most people enough to free themselves from the demonic influences.

Nature of Demonic Spirits
Demonic spirits are merciless beings that will not hesitate to try and take advantage of the lives of humans with every opportunity they get. Whether it is through a willful act that creates an open door in the life of an individual, or through a traumatic experience… a Demonic spirit will seek to take full advantage of those moments and will try to gain access in the life of a person.

Dabbling in the occult is by far the quickest way for demons to gain entrance in the lives of humans. This is because most occult activities involve having direct contact with demonic spirits. Whether it’s dabbling with Tarot cards, Ouija board, Necromancy, Witchcraft, or any other means of consulting evil spirits, will certainly open up the door way to demonic bondage.

Using drugs also increases susceptibility to demonic invasion in a person’s life. Because drugs disrupt the coherent state of the mind and will open up an individual to be controlled by Demonic spirits. By use of drugs is a person putting himself into a state in which he can see and have access to demonic entities. In the Apocalypse (e.g., chapter 9, verse 21) the word sorceries is used. It’s from the Greek “pharmakeia,” which includes the use of drugs to achieve hallucinations, as part of witchcraft, evil arts, etc. The point is that there is a biblical connection between drug use, and sorcery (access to evil spirits). It’s therefore no surprise that people who are using drugs see evil spirits. A person who uses drugs is definitely opening himself up to becoming possessed.

Involuntary entry point of demons
In instances where demons enter the life of an individual through involuntary means, are usually during those times when a person goes through a traumatic experience, which causes intense negative emotional reactions that are above normal. This can be an overwhelming response to an experience which causes one to be completely overcome by fear, deep depression, deep sorrow, very deep emotional pains and different negative emotions which are above normal.

Anger
Anger is also another emotion which demons tend to feed off, especially when a person decides to dwell on being angry by choosing to hold on to whatever is making them angry. This will open the door for demonic spirits to come in and influence them to do different deeds by further fueling their anger into rage.

Generational curse
A generational curse is also another involuntary way in which demons enter into the life of an individual. When a child grows up and seems to inherit bad habits, addictions or conditions from their parents or past relatives they may even have never met.

This could be drug addiction, addiction to alcohol, many different addictions and different sicknesses and diseases. It could be something that is passed on to only one individual in the family, or something that every member of the family seems to have inherited.

Demonic spirits have been around for many years and are still constantly going around looking for their next target. The Devil goes around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. To guard ourselves from demonic oppression and possession, we have to stay clear away from the occult and drugs and mortal sins. Also don’t dwell too much on negative emotions. For instances where we feel overwhelmed, it’s important to seek counseling and if necessary, seek also spiritual help.

How Do Evil Spirits Enter Us?

Evil spirits enter us through many ways as indicated in the examples below.

Those Cursed or Held Guilty by Original Sin
In some cases, evil spirits enter an apparently innocent victim or a victim held guilty by original sin. The victim may be an unborn baby who is cursed from the mother’s womb. The curse can be from original sin or from a jealous relative, friend, enemy, or even the child’s own parents.

In reality, there are no such thing as an “innocent victim” with regard to demonic possession. Excluding those victim souls, Nature allows to be possessed and tormented for the sake of their own and the salvation of others, only those people who are actually guilty of mortal sin (or even deliberate venial sin) can become possessed by evil spirits.

Victims of demonic oppression/possession may also include children who are not loved, who are mistreated or abused or rejection by other children, siblings, parents, etc. The abuse can range from sexual abuse, mental abuse, or physical abuse.

Those who Choose Evil
In other cases, an evil spirit may enter us because of involvement in evil practices such as the occult. The occult is any practice that involves ceremonies, rituals, chants, magic, or activities that are obviously not God centered. These activities or rituals can change the course of nature, the lives of those who are involved in such practices, and of course, the so-called innocent victims.

The Ouija board is a popular occult board game and there is also Dungeons and Dragons. Satan’s main target in Dungeons and Dragons game is our youth. With Dungeons and Dragons, the most powerful and successful players are those who use magic. There is a Dungeons Master Guide that even teaches new beginners how to communicate with the dead, cast spells, and learn to chant. In fact, most if not all role-playing and fantasy games includes the evil practice of magic—in addition to being extremely violent games (for example, having as one of their main plot going around killing people or creatures by magic and by the use of weapons); all such and like games (see evil video games) are therefore evil and forbidden to play and find enjoyment in. They also invites demons into one’s soul.
The use of magic revolves around evil spirits, psychic abilities and contacting spirits. Magic is a power that does not involve God. It is a power that is derived from such things as voodoo, sorcery, witchcraft, primitive religions and Satanism. Most witches who use magic swear that they do not worship Satan but worship the gods and goddesses of nature Of course they worship Satan! Do not let someone who practices this occult practice tell you otherwise!). Many of these individuals are unknown because they blend in quite well. They can be found attending religious services in every denomination and they practice their magic on the side. If someone tells you white magic is ok—don’t believe them.
Use of occult/new age tools such as crystals, divination, astrology, tarot cards, crystal balls, reincarnation, pendulums, Yoga, Transcendental Meditation.
Those who make a pact with Satan or attend Satanic services or rituals.
Going to Séances, fortune tellers, Horoscopes, or spiritualist meetings for the purpose of contact the dead.
Those who use or abuse alcohol or mind changing drugs such as LSD, cocaine, marijuana (see Smoking and Drugs). If someone tells you using drugs is ok—run away from them.
Sex out of wedlock, adultery, homosexuals (also the homosexual orientation),masturbation, foreplay, sensual kisses and touches, giving consent to impure and illicit thoughts, contraception, Natural Family Planning (NFP).
Those who have an abortion.
Those who try to commit suicide or have suicidal tendencies.

Yes, some of what you will experience will be completely your imagination filling in the blanks. But if you allow yourself to just go with the experience, you may find that much of what you see, hear and feel will come from an actual previous incarnation.

And even more interesting for most people, is the life-experience connections that exist from past life are continued on into this current lifetime. So often by accepting and allowing the emotion, as it was in the memory, it may resolve a situation in the present.

How can I remember a past life?

Some people have spontaneous flashbacks during the waking state. This may be triggered by an event, such as visiting a place where one has lived in a past life. Past life memories may also appear in dreams or during meditation. The most effective and therapeutic way to recall a past life is to have a session with a past-life regression therapist. The average person generally is unaware of entity or spirit attachment and functions day-to-day having no awareness of the effect it has upon one’s own energy system. Symptoms can include (but are not limited to) sudden physical pain anywhere in the body, limited range of movement of a limb occurring without reason or benefit of a recent injury, mental cloudiness and that ‘inside a plastic bag feeling’, depression, unusual anger/irritated mood or altered psyche and perceptions, and preferences for certain foods, noticeable addictions, or other interests not like your own, can occur.

Stories about spirit activity are frightening. But, in many ways, the scariest thing about these stories is the utter unpredictability and randomness of the spirit possession; it seems that it could happen to anyone.

Scary, yes! But in reality, you have much more power than you may think, because spirit possession is not a truly random occurrence. There has to be a specific set of circumstances in place; usually it’s that someone’s energy field has been weakened through some sort of trauma, which makes them vulnerable and unaware.

Sometimes when a person dies, fear or disbelief keeps them from crossing over into the light. This person may have unfinished business, or may be afraid of leaving familiar territory, or in fact, they may not even know they are dead. They become a phantom of who they used to be, a ghost in need of an energy source.

Most spirits are attracted to the light of the living, and spirit attachment occurs when a ghost, or spirit, can find a way to attach to an available source of light.

The living are at their most vulnerable when their energy field is weak. Under normal circumstances, the energy field is strong enough that most people won’t even notice the presence of earthbound spirits. But if placed under enough stress, the energy field can develop openings, or gaps, that make spirit attachment much easier.

Signs of spirit attachment can include listlessness, lethargy, depression, impatience, sleeplessness, nightmares, a change in eating habits, and in fact, such drastic personality changes that friends and loved ones will notice. (Naturally, should you develop any of these symptoms, it’s always a very good idea to visit your family doctor.)

To keep your energy field strong and clear, and prevent the likelihood of spirit attachment happening in the first place, follow these simple steps:

Avoid drugs and alcohol (never go off prescribed medicines unless your doctor gives the okay)
Get plenty of rest
Avoid negative people and places when you can
Keep a positive attitude
Spend time in nature
Exercise regularly
Develop a daily practice that reduces stress
Stay grounded and centered
Get plenty of play-time
Be creative

These practices are necessary for a healthy mind and spirit, and allow you to express the brightest version of your Self. Not only will they help you to avoid the attachments of unwanted spirits, but they will rejuvenate you, body and soul, allowing you to move ever forward into the next grandest version of your life.

Remove the cords that bind.

Energetic cords are fairly passive two-way energetic connections that can drain our energy. They can come from either positive or negative Souls and their effects are very subtle. We can create cords with just about anyone we have a relationship with, whether that be a parent, friend, family member, or even a co-worker.

Cords are usually formed when we create an emotional relationship with another person who is significant in our lives at that time. Just like any other form of negative energy that can affect us, we do have to allow them to be put in place, and we do that by allowing another’s actions to affect us on an emotional level. The mechanism of placement for these is when we respond to another’s actions through an emotional reaction.

The problem with cords is that when they are in place, our energy is not fully our own. Our energy may actually go toward others’ projects, goals, ideas, and outcomes, rather than our own. Cords can also create resentment in the affected relationships because we intuitively know that our energy is being drained by that person, yet we do not know why.

A second type of energetic connection that can drain our energy and cause us even more difficulty is called a hook. The primary difference between a hook and a cord is that cords are much more easily formed than hooks. A cord can come from or go to a parent, a child, a doctor, a teacher, a lover, brother, sister, co-worker… you name it – anyone we have even a semi-significant relationship with. A hook, on the other hand, is placed in our energy body, directly into our chakra system, and comes from either a negative, or a weak and disempowered Soul that does not have the ability to find strength enough within themselves to create and draw on their own sources of energy.

It is truly an act of disempowerment when another Soul places a hook in our energy field, both on their part because they are making the choice to draw on another’s energy, but also on our part by allowing it to be put into place, even though we do this at a subconscious level. Hooks also have ‘programs’ attached to them and that energy is brought directly into our energy field from the hook, having a negative effect on the energy our chakras draw in and send out into the world.

While this sounds like it might be some form of ‘magic’ or a ‘spell’ that is cast on us, I assure you it is not. It is really more about our emotional response to another’s actions that allows the hook to be placed into our energy field. We still have to ALLOW a hook to take hold in our energy field. Just like any other form of negative energy, it simply cannot get there without us allowing it to be placed.

An example of a cord or hook being formed and negatively affecting us might be from an ex-husband or father with whom you do not now or never had a good relationship with. I’ve also seen cords and hooks to individuals who are close friends that someone has had for years, but that friend is a rather weak or disempowered Soul that feels they need to draw on someone else’s energy in order to succeed in their own life. They can even be formed with the teachers that we have had close enough relationships with.

Of course, it would be very hard to say that we should go through life without being emotionally connected to another person, but keep in mind that these connections are not in either Soul’s best interest. The reason for this is that both hooks and cords act as a form of energy theft on the part of the Soul who places them there. Therefore, if you have allowed a cord to enter your energy field from another Soul, you are also allowing that Soul to utilize a portion of your energy. What that means is that you do not have full access to all of your own energy and your energy may even be utilized for another’s projects and ideas, which certainly does not benefit you and your life in achieving your own goals.

Why would we allow such a thing to be done to us?

It often happens when we feel compassion for another Soul who is having a difficult time and so we allow their problems to affect us in negative ways. The important thing to remember the next time you feel compassion for someone else having a tough time is that yes, you can assist them by offering advice and perhaps assistance they need, but if you feel yourself starting to be pulled into their “drama” to the point where you are getting, frustrated, angry, resentful, or having any other emotional reaction, that could very well mean that a hook or cord is being formed and THAT is precisely the time to pull back away from them and stop helping them.

What are energetic cords?

When we meet people, or connect with places, even things, an energetic connection or cord can developed between ourselves and the other people or places. These cords form automatically bonding or binding us to one another at the energetic level. Energetic connections are similar to having a fiber optic cord between ourselves and others. Through these cords or connections energetic information can be shared, or energy can be drawn by one person or the other.

Are they good for us?

There can be hundreds of these energetic cords connected to us. Many of the energetic cords or connections serve us by helping us stay connected energetically to family, spouses, close friends, our home, past homes, or even favorite vacation places and possessions. Spouses can have many connections at various levels. Theses cords help us to share love when we are not close to one another geographically. We can draw upon one another’s energy when we feel depleted or run down. Since emotions are essentially nothing more than energy, they can be shared through the energetic connections. Have you ever felt worn out and then by thinking about your loved one feel more energized? Or felt agitated and then seem more peaceful thinking about your spouse, or a friend, wherever they are? There are many connections between children and parents. Love is shared through the energetic connections, even though our actions may seem unlike love. We seem to know when our children are distressed or in some kind of trouble. There are many ways that these energetic connections serve us. There are even energetic connections or cords however small that connect everyone on this planet.

Can the Cords Be Harmful?

Although these connections can support and help us on our journey, they can also hold us back, drain us unnecessarily or keep us connected to those people and places that no longer serve us. Friends move on, we move to new homes, relationships change and the memories of places we have been no longer support us. Simply put, these connections no longer serve us, or are unnecessary, yet they remain and share information as well as draw upon our energy field. Some people can connect to us even though we would not want them to. Have you ever met someone in the shopping mall, or at the office, or a neighbor that after a few minutes together you feel drained energetically? These people have established cords to your energy field in order to draw upon your energy. These types of connections do not serve us in any way. They continue to draw our energy without our permission or awareness and can negatively affect our well being.

Freedom from Past Relationships

One of the most common connections that do not serve us and negatively affect our freedom is the energetic connection between spouses, partners or lovers whose relationships have ended. Because of the close connections during the relationship these cords seem to stay in place, continuing to share information and energy. There can be many that people have difficulty with past relationships, however, many people stay “stuck” in the old relationship or have difficulty moving on to new relationships due to these connections still being in place. When energetic cords are still in place the task of moving on becomes more difficult. As our lives shift and change – relationships, jobs, locations where we live – it becomes more important to our well being, success, and freedom to be who we truly are. More important that we sever those cords that bind us unnecessarily to people or places that no longer serve us. Thus, one of the first things we do when conducting a clearing or energetic healing session is to disconnect these cords and heal the places where they were attached to the energy field of the person.

Kalia Masan (The Ash of the Dead)… is the most dangerous type of black magic, it uses the power of disturbed souls on the lower astral plane who are suffering and wandering without any direction to elevate them and live as parasites on the people dwelling on earth. The Lower Astral is a magnetic continuum along a dark tunnel that attracts the lower thought forms of human beings. It collects human negativity the way a sewer collects wastes. Its energy is strangely fascinating and hypnotic; its methods are seductive, intimidating and ruthless.

If you get a very bad thought in your mind that’s either filled with Hate, Lust or Vengeance and if you are unable to get out of your mind, during your sleep cycle when the body is in complete rest mode, the subconscious travels out and passes on this energy to the beings on the lower astral plane. You would have dreamt some real bad dreams and nightmares kind off which actually is nothing but an out of body experience of your mind and subconscious which has traveled out while your physical body was asleep into the lower astral plane and the beings there have devoured on your negativity. While this act has occurred without your will.

The elevated soul will be accompanied by a spirit guide who will directly take soul after death to the mid higher astral plane and will continue its journey to the next level. On the other hand when a soul leaves the body which is not yet prepared to leave as in cases of accidental death, suicide, murders the soul is lost and does not know where to go, it is out of the physical realm because the body cannot accept the soul anymore and is medically termed as dead. This lost soul reaches the lowest astral plane, this is the plane that has maximum negativity, souls who have left the physical plane with extreme lust, hate or any negative emotion dwell here.

Ash from shamshaan ghaat (funeral pyre) is exorcised with black mantras and given to the person in eatables or drink. The ash remains in the stomach forever if no actions are taken to get it out. This may given constant stomach ache to the person. It also impacts the brain and the person may start behaving suspiciously. He gets weaker day by day. Ash of the Dead or Kalia Masan is black magic by getting the victim to eat food containing ashes of a dead person. Death happens after 40 days often through the sudden onset of a fatal disease.

The theory behind Kalia Masan is simple. In dreams we travel to other planes, and meet other friendly souls. Sometimes we meet people who have passed on. Our connection with these other worlds is deep, intrinsic to who we are.

The souls who passed on through suicide, accident, murder or sudden death, who were not ready, do not know where to go, and they go to lower planes of terrifying images. These people already had depression, morbid thoughts, or negative emotions, which help bring them to this bad place.

In the Bible, Isaiah where the prophet finds a place of bones and skeletons, and magicians travel there (you don’t want to go there without special training!), to rescue people who have fallen into this site. Black magicians do not have to go there – they just need ashes from a funeral pyre.

At the entrance to this place is a wide river, full of blood and pus with bones blood and flesh on the banks – there is no water, and on the other side are the souls waiting for a magician to help them back. Black magicians use the ash to tie them to the living victim, so that they can swap places. The river is full of crocodiles and alligators and flesh-eating birds. if a lost soul attempts to cross back the river seethes and boils. Terrifying insects are everywhere, there are flesh-eating fish and leeches. Whirlpools pull down the souls who enter the river in their attempts to escape, and deposit them back.

Cursing, Crossing, Jinxing, and Hexing: Am I cursed

Well maybe you are…

Are you feeling blocked and can’t figure out what is blocking you? Do you feel angry for no particular reason, or guilty or jealous? Does success in business or relationships seem to elude you without specific cause? Well you could be suffering under one or more curses. In today’s Society we give little attention or credence to what we call curses. A curse is a powerful negative energetic thought form with a curse specific purpose that is directed or focused on a particular person, or place, which affects their energy field, and therefore their life. A curse can be intentional where one person consciously wants to direct harm to another. Or, a curse can be unintentional, usually in the case of a spur of the moment, emotionally charged, experience between two people such as an argument or instance of extreme jealousy. Good intentions can also become a curse when they interfere with the receiver’s life in any way.

It is important to note a few things about the nature of cursing before we continue:

There may be a genuine physical reason for what you are going through with or without a curse in place. Please seek medical attention if you are having physical illness. Even after a curse is removed you will need to deal with the physical repercussions.
There may be a mental /emotional reason why you believe you are cursed. Some people are genuinely cursed and need spiritual help. Other people are not cursed and are in need of counseling/therapy or medication. Most people if they have genuinely been cursed have a lot of pent-up anger and grief about being cursed, so working with the emotions through counseling, healing, or whatever means you have to deal with the left-over emotions surrounding the experience will be beneficial
There is a belief out there that “you can only be cursed if you believe in curses” or that if you think positively a curse will go away. This is a very untrue New-age sort of belief that can be quite harmful to people as it places the blame on the victim for not thinking positively enough. I have worked with enough people who come from all religions, paths, etc. who have had heavy curses on them that until they had the direct experience of having one did not believe in them. Trust me, it doesn’t matter.
There are all sorts of different types of curses out there. Many of them you will not really notice or attribute to cursing. The only way to tell for sure if you have been cursed is through a reading with a competent professional.

What is a curse?

A curse is a strong, emotionally charged, negative thought directed toward a person or a place. In some situations a curse develops gradually over time from a person holding negative thoughts (even beliefs), coupled with negative emotions about someone or someplace and holds them for a long period of time. A harmful thought expressed with a highly charged emotion can become a curse immediately particularly in those times of distress – e.g. relationship breakdown, arguments, jealousy, or a dressing down by a parent or person of authority. There are also other negative energies that attach themselves to curses and magnify or amplify the negative energy of the curse.

Now, let us talk about how different curse, crossed conditions, jinxes, and hexes manifest:

A general feeling of nothing going right in your life since a specific moment in time
Trouble in a specific area of your life, such as health, finances, relationships, etc. when you have ruled out all of the “ordinary” reasoning and it has come up with nothing- such as getting blood work, going to a counselor, working constantly and saving money appropriately and still having difficulty.
Repeating of accidents, trauma, or the same issues coming up again and again
Every attempt to sort things out falls through, even though you are willing to take personal responsibility and work for finances, love, health, etc and have taken the route to do so nothing ever works
In some cases, many family members having the same accidents, traumas, difficulties, and bad luck that are persistent
Feelings of something “beyond ordinary” or spiritual is going on with you
In some cases, a feeling of someone or something watching you
In some cases, a realization that you have upset someone that may have magical, shamanic, or other abilities and powers
In some cases, the finding of odd physical objects, powders, or other items in your yard or house
A backlash – a feeling of taking one step forward and struggling to do so and then being repeatedly forced five or six steps back

Now, let us get into who can actually curse and how curses, crossed conditions, jinxes and hexes come to be:

In mild or moderate cases, you can actually curse yourself through belief patterns, understandings, and traumas you have carried from childhood

In many cases, curses are passed down through family lineage. Someone at some point in time cursed a member of your immediate family or ancestral line and it has been passed down through generations. This is especially valid when you see the same bad luck, behaviors, and backlash against a specific area of your life and throughout your family line (like romance, finances, etc). These curses can be quite strong and cause a great deal of difficulty.
Some cases of cursing come from current life situations. For example, if you have done something that goes against your own or commonly understood societal morals- such as murdering someone, cheating, lying, etc. it is likely you have mildly or moderately cursed yourself due to your own actions

In some cases of cursing people can simply be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Negative Entities |Spirit Possession |Evil Energy Attachment

Spirit attachment has been known about by mediums and psychics for a very long time but is only now coming into the limelight – mainly due to the increase in paranormal investigations. Spirit attachment is basically just what it says. A living person has the energy or spirit of a dead person/entity attached to them. Many are parasitic, some malevolent others are benign. There are also the few rare cases where it is alleged that spirits have attached to people who then are able to do things they had no talent for previously such as writing music, painting, drawing, writing poetry and so on. However, in most cases attachments range from being temporary and unpleasant to long-term and terrifying. There are also physical and mental health complications.

There can be many reasons why a spirit attachment occurs but the most common reasons are given below:

Many earthbound spirits attach simply because they find comfort in re-living some of the physical aspects of life. Others are confused and don’t realise they are dead and want to get close to a living person. In this case they are often trying to contact the living for help. These attachments might be deliberate or happen without the spirit realising what it’s doing. In these cases the spirits don’t usually have any intention of harming the person they are attached to.
Other spirits and entities deliberately seek out the energy of living people. It’s not possible within the scope of this short article to go into the esoteric or spiritual theories on these spirits and entities. They are known by many names and basically they feed on the energy given off by people in the physical world. For spirits to do this, the easiest way is to take the huge resources of a living person and drain the energy away from them – very much like a parasite. Indeed many of these energy stealing manifestations are called psychic vampires. In addition, the most common type of spirit who is both determined and strong enough to latch on are usually malevolent. They not only want energy but enjoy creating havoc with their host and those around them.

The people who seem to be more at risk than others are :

Paranormal investigators – there are a number of cases of investigators having a spirit either shadow them or actually attaching itself. The reason is that paranormal investigators are usually only called to very active locations. In these very haunted areas you can find all manner of different spirits – distressed, traumatised and negative. In addition, not every paranormal investigator will take precautions such as basic protection when entering a spiritually active area. There are numerous stories of very experienced paranormal researchers leaving a location, going home to bed and waking up to find a dark, malevolent mist hovering around them. They can also experience intense feelings of being watched and followed. In most cases this tends to fade after a few days, but others have not been so lucky as we shall see later.
Mediums/psychics – very experienced psychics are unlikely to be troubled by spiritual attachment. However, undeveloped or untrained psychics could well be at risk for a number of reasons. Firstly they may have psychic channels open permanently with no idea how to close them or carry out protection. Secondly, you can have young or latent psychics in particular who actually have no idea that they have this ability. Again they are prone to having channels open that can cause a spirit to enter.
Dabblers in the occult or spirit activities are people who have no great knowledge or training in esoteric or spiritual areas. They often make up rituals or ‘play games’ such as the ouija board and then find that they have opened a nasty can of worms that can’t be closed. The main reason they are at risk is again due to lack of knowledge, guidance and experience as well as failing to use some form of protection. For some reason the ouija board in particular may open doors to the nastier types of spirit.
People who have emotional or health issues can also be at risk for the simple reason that their natural energy protection is lowered. However, I feel that these people should only be at risk if they are in an active area and/or they are inexperienced psychics or dabblers.
People with a history of drug abuse in particular are at risk from spirit attachment. Drugs and excessive alcohol intake not only diminishes the body’s natural aura, but it’s believed they actually cause rips or gaps in this protective shield and in the psyche itself. Many esoteric scholars believe that drug or alcohol induced hallucinations may actually be spirits from the lower astral manifesting but this is open to debate.

Types of spirit or entity that may attach to a person

It seems that although earth-bound human spirits are the main offenders when it comes to attachment they are not the only form of spirit or force that does this. Firstly, there could be energies from perhaps the mind/sub-concious that are focused and externalised. Many famous occultists have actually achieved this using mental exercises and meditation.

However, this really needs to be covered in a different hub since the subject also goes into psychic attack by another person, different types of thought forms and so on.

Earthbound spirits
Bascially these are human spirits who are either trapped or have chosen to stay close to the physical dimension – the reasons some do remain are numerous. Many are traumatised and distressed people. Others are malevolent and choose to stay around the earth plane seemingly enjoying the havoc and fear they cause. It’s not unknown for these negative spirits to pretend to be demonic and so on, when in fact they are not. However, they are still dangerous and it’s always wise to have protection before investigating a location that has these types of spirit.
Non human entities
Spirit energies that have not incarnated into the physical realm. Some seem to be benign. Many are strange and unknown but not necessarily negative. The most common forms or the frequent names given to non-human entities are ‘shadows’, ‘shadow people’ and ‘demons’.
Elementals
These spiritual beings are often confused with other entities and are frequently and unfairly given a bad name. Basically an elemental is a spirit being that belongs to one of the four classic elements – fire, air, water or earth. Whereas human beings are complicated, the elementals are much more simplistic. Neither are they a spirit form such as a human in the afterlife. Their natural state is in spirit.

Unfortunately for them, elementals are frequently attracted to the human energy fields. In their original form, elementals are certainly not evil. However, they are often invoked in negative occult practices, where they are used, abused and then become distorted and warped. In addition, in places where people have committed extreme violence, abuse and evil thoughts, elementals who unwittingly absorb these energies can, through no fault of their own, become monstrous. It needs a very loving and caring cleansing to remove the elemental back to its natural form.

Many elementals unfortunately end up in the lower astral planes due to being corrupted by humans. Why do some spirits stay earthbound?

Earthbound spirits, commonly known as ghosts, are deceased souls who remain attached to the earthly realm after dying. When the body expires, the spirit of a person usually moves into the astral realm (via their astral body) to begin a new existence. This astral dimension is very close to our own. Some call it heaven. Sadly, there are spirits who do not fully cross into the light of the astral realm immediately upon death. These spirits are commonly referred to as “Earthbound Spirits”.

Earthbound spirits are souls who either consciously decide not to cross over, are not aware they have died, or are so traumatized by the death experience, they literally cannot see the light. Earthbound spirits are bound to an isolated existence. They continue conscious awareness in their own little world and often linger in earthly locals where they once felt the most comfort and safety. They often have an agenda. You might encounter these spirits in a home, a place of business, or even wandering around a property. In other cases, spirits might inhabit a space somewhere in our reality but are not consciously aware of where that is and are not tied to a specific place.

There are spirits who don’t know they are dead. As hard as it is for us to understand this, it does happen. These spirits can be benign or very angry because they are confused.

Again, failing to make the normal transition at death can happen for any number of reasons. The death could be sudden and traumatic causing confusion, the spirit exists in a dazed twilight condition, or might even feel rage at being robbed of life. Other reasons could include fear of how they will be treated on the other side, emotional attachments to those left behind, massive guilt, or unfinished business. There are even those who stay for the sake of curiosity or revenge. Some cannot bear to be separated from family members or are worried about a particular family member–such as a spouse left behind. Many earthbound spirits are not aware or choose to ignore guides and loved ones from the other side who have come to escort them across the veil (another term for entering the astral plane). They instead, elect to continue on as before with their emotions and attitudes unchanged.

Some reasons why a spirit would get stuck

Unresolved grief of a loved one. When a loved one such as a parent, a child, or a sibling dies and a person is not able to accept the loss, the unresolved grief of the survivor seems to make an energetic pull on the deceased that prevents the spirit from fully moving into the next world.
Strong negative feelings at the moment of death. When a person dies in a state of terror, anger, or rage, these feelings are like lead bags holding down a hot air balloon that should rise. They seem to chain the spirit to the gravitational field of the earth. For example, civilians who are killed in wars often have very strong negative feelings, because soldiers are only supposed to kill other soldiers, not civilians.
Not knowing what to expect. People with no spiritual training may not know what to expect at the moment of death. They may think consciousness will end, as if the lights went out and they ceased to exist. The spirit never dies, and after it leaves the physical body, one still has feelings and can hear and see everything. Athiests may think that they are still alive and not notice that the body they are in is not their own. In fact, Gary Leon Hill, author of People Who Don’t Know They Are Dead quips, “Being dead is so much like being alive that many people die without realizing their condition.”
Confusion or disorientation at the moment of death. Other factors that may contribute to a person not realizing what is happening when everyone stops talking to them (except Soul Detectives!) are situations that impair cognitive brain functions: head trauma such as a car accident, Alzheimer’s, or drug stupor at the moment of death either from a drug overdose or from opiates given to ease the pain of the final stage of terminal illness. Please note that most people who die make the transition into the next world just fine. Not everyone who dies from one of the situations listed above becomes earthbound—just a few.
Fear of punishment. When people have done things they know are wrong, they may turn away from the Light because they fear they will be sent to a place of punishment. People who have been raised in strict religious traditions often believe that God is an angry God who will punish them for all of their sins. The Catholic Church has taught that after death, the soul goes into purgatory, a place of fire, where one’s sins are burned away to purify the soul before it is ready to go into heaven. Sometimes people are so afraid they will go into purgatory or hell that they refuse to budge and stay earthbound.
Unfinished business. People who stay earthbound because of unresolved interpersonal issues. Once the situation is resolved, they are at peace and can cross into the Light.
Attachment to material possessions. Some people become so attached to their material possessions that they do not want to leave them when they die. Real estate agents know that sometimes the deceased former owner of a house has not vacated the premises and is still “living” in what that person considers his or her home. The new occupants may hear footsteps and noises, and lights may go on and off—all signs of poltergeist activity.
