Being over weight can bring lots of problems and not least many very serious irreversible life threatening illnesses. If you are well over weight you are taking a great risk that you may well pay a hefty price for.
Losing weight should be taken very seriously because of the very serious consequences if you do not. In my opinion, therefore, you should undertake a professional weight loss course. Making half hearted attempts by using so called quick fix methods or diets lead to nowhere over the long term. It is the long term that you need to aim for if you want to try to avoid risking life threatening irreversible illnesses, not to mention all the other disadvantages being over weight brings.
Is being over weight simply the cause of eating more than your body needs to survive and taking in more calories than required? If it was then reducing your food intake, eating healthily and throwing in a certain amount of exercise as a good measure should produce a lean, slim, healthy body, if only it was that simple! Losing weight should be easy as we are often given the impression it is but in truth (at least in most cases) it’s not. It is often involved, complicated and depends very much on each individual’s past experiences and character. In my opinion, an individual approach is required, one that can be adapted to suit each individual’s particular needs so that they are successful over the long term.
There can be many reasons as to why someone apparently cannot lose weight and just as many more reasons as to why the weight just keeps increasing. My experience has shown, it is not always your fault. Explanation as follows:
It is often your mind that plays the most important role when it comes to losing weight and more often than not your mind is not involved in most weight loss methods including diets. Your mind controls. I am sure you have heard the saying ‘You are what you think.’ I will take that a stage further and say ‘You are what your subconscious mind thinks.’ Now, it’s quite likely that you are not consciously aware of all what your subconscious mind is thinking and it can be thinking all sorts of things, things that could well be sabotaging all and every one of your weight loss efforts, and if this is the case you will never win over the long term, period!
People diet to change their self-image. How about turning it around? Change your self-image first, then, your new body shape will follow! Your subconscious mind molds your life and shapes your body according to your self-image. When you change your self-image you change your life and change your body shape.
When you diet you focus more on the food you miss. The more you imagine the food you miss the more you want to eat it. That’s the real reason why diets don’t work.
In dieting you use your will power to produce result. The will power can never achieve the outcome you want, because it belongs to your conscious mind. It is the subconscious mind that is in control of your metabolism, your body shape and body weight.
Your subconscious mind is more powerful than your will power! Put it to work in your favour and find the secret keys to weight loss.
Is your subconscious mind sabotaging your weight loss efforts? Ask yourself the following questions:
Do I eat large portions of food, even though I know I don’t need them?
Do I constantly eat the wrong types of food, although I know I shouldn’t?
Do I continually snack, when I feel there is no need to eat?
Do I eat when I am not hungry, but feel I still need to eat?
Do I have an addiction to a particular type of food?
There are many more questions you could ask yourself but I am sure you get the idea.
If you can relate to any or all of the above questions then there is a strong possibility that your subconscious mind is adversely affecting your weight loss efforts by keeping active some hidden negative emotions that stem from your past or at the very least you have some open negative emotions that you are aware of, but that need to be released.
Of course, one needs to understand that hypnotherapy is not a stand alone solution. Going in for hypnotherapy does not mean that you can eat all you want and still lose weight. While that might also happen in certain circumstances, when you are opting for hypnotherapy, you need to be prepared to eat healthy and exercise – hypnotherapy is going to make this easier for you, and more pleasurable.
